My Story
After more than a decade working in law, I am excited to open the doors to LawR — a practice built on making the law accessible to all.

This next chapter is about law that’s approachable, local, and genuinely focused on people. I work with clients navigating rural, residential, and retirement matters, offering clear advice and practical solutions without the unnecessary complexity.

While I didn’t grow up on a farm myself, farming is part of my DNA. I come from a large Dutch family with deep roots in New Zealand’s dairy farming history, originally based in the Waikato. My adult life, however, has been firmly grounded in Canterbury — where I completed my law degree and now call North Canterbury home.

At heart, I’m a transactional lawyer. And, for the past six years, I hav worked closely with farmers, helping them navigate the complexities of the agri-world. That experience has shaped the way I practise law: bridging the gap between urban and rural perspectives to deliver outcomes that truly work for hard-working farmers, families, and retirees.
